CJP Website and Forum Terms of Use & Code of Conduct
Notice of Updates to Terms of Use & Code of Conduct (Effective July 15, 2026)
CJP has updated its Terms of Use and Code of Conduct as part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and welcoming community for all members and partners. Based on valuable member feedback, we have revised the Code of Conduct to make it clearer, simpler, and easier to follow, helping to create a smoother and more enjoyable forum experience for everyone. Open sharing of experiences and lessons learned is one of CJP’s most powerful safety tools, and these updates are intended to foster an environment where all members feel comfortable participating, asking questions, and contributing their knowledge. The revised Code of Conduct reaffirms CJP’s dedication to civil discourse, mutual respect, and productive aviation discussions that support our mission of learning, safety, and community. We are also clarifying and strengthening enforcement of our policies to ensure the forum remains a constructive and inclusive place for members to engage and learn from one another.
Please review the full policy below for details.
By accessing this website, members agree to the following to these Terms of Use & Code of Conduct:
Terms of Use
The Citation Jet Pilots, Inc. Owner Pilot Association (“CJP”) website and forums (“CJP Services”) are in place for use by CJP members and partners as an aviation-focused platform to further CJP’s mission. The CJP Services are intended to provide an informative, engaging, civil, and tolerant platform for members to post aviation-related topics, questions, and information for discussion and advancement of aviation knowledge in the safe and enjoyable operation of Citation and Premier jet aircraft. CJP believes a hostile and intolerant environment within the CJP services is contrary to our culture and counterproductive to encouraging and sustaining open, healthy aviation learning.
Deliberate attempts to intimidate any member by attacking their post or belittling them, as well as disparagement of CJP members and other participating parties, will not be tolerated and may result in termination from membership and forfeiture of any paid membership fees. CJP Partners have access to the Services and are encouraged to engage in them for the benefit of the membership. Partners should be treated with the same respect and courtesy as individual members. Members with businesses should post solely as individuals and refrain from promoting or posting on behalf of their business on CJP forums or services. Commercial postings or solicitations are prohibited unless you are a designated CJP Partner and your partnership agreement expressly permits it.
To ensure the CJP Services meet the objectives of the organization and its membership, CJP has adopted these Terms of Use and Code of Conduct.
CJP Services participants should keep foremost in mind civility and tolerance towards the views of others, and that CJP is dedicated to Citation and Premier owner operators and their safe and enjoyable operation of Textron jet aircraft. While the primary focus of the CJP Services is to benefit and inform CJP members on Textron jet aircraft-related aviation topics, CJP recognizes that such topics often generate broader policy discussions, which may be political or societal in nature. CJP intends discussions of this nature to occur in (or get moved to, the “World Views” forum (or another such forum), which may be in a restricted-access area of the forums.
Code of Conduct:
The CJP Code of Conduct is based on common sense notions of good manners, mutual respect, and polite discourse. Most importantly, it is rooted in supporting CJP’s core mission pillars: Learning, Safety and Best Practices; Interaction; Advocacy; and Aviation Community Services.
Open sharing of experiences and lessons learned is one of CJP’s most powerful safety tools. The Code of Conduct is intended to foster a culture in which all members feel comfortable doing so. Should even one member feel personally criticized and consequently withdraw from future participation, we will have failed that member and, by extension, our mission.
Additionally, CJP’s advocacy mission requires that we establish and maintain an effective working relationship with those who provide products and services to our members. A partner, their organization, or a representative thereof should be treated as any member would.
Respect for fellow members and CJP partners is a prerequisite for forum participation. Members should be mindful that others may hold views or opinions that differ from their own. Differing opinions and respectful criticism are acceptable, provided they are expressed in a manner that is neither hostile, belittling, intolerant, nor disparaging, and remain focused on ideas and opinions rather than on the motives or intent of the individual expressing them.
- Topics and Categories:
- Aviation: With the exception of the “World Views” category, all forum posting should be related to aviation in some form. Please endeavor to post topics in the appropriate forum Category. Moderators are authorized to relocate a post if the post clearly falls outside the appropriate category.
- World Views: CJP recognizes that our members may wish to discuss topics that fall outside the realm of aviation. Accordingly, we have established the World Views category, where members may elect to participate in discussions beyond aviation. The World Views category is structured and regulated as follows:
- Opt-in: The viewing of topics in World Views is optional for all members. Those who wish to view or participate in World View must “opt-in”. Instructions for opt-in or opt-out are available on the forum.
- Code of Conduct: The CJP Code of Conduct applies to the World View posting, as in the rest of the CJP postings.
- Classifieds:
- Member Classified Category: Owner-Members may post items that they own, are in search of, or are for sale or lease to other CJP members. Please do not post or promote any products or offerings related to a business of an Owner-Member.
- Commercial Classified or Product Offering Categories: CJP business partners are only authorized to market their product or service in conjunction with a pre-arranged agreement with CJP management, and only in the CJP Partner Marketplace forum. Please contact the CJP offices for further information.
- Restrictions: Sexually inappropriate material, vulgar language, racial/sexual/religious defamation, and/or otherwise indecent material is not permitted in any CJP forum category.
- Prohibited Activities:
- Code of Conduct Violations: Members are expected to follow the CJP Code of Conduct, as outlined above.
- Copyright Violations: Please do not post any language, software, or visual materials that may be subject to copyright or other intellectual property rights/laws.
- Corrupt Files: Please do not upload any files that may have viruses or programs that may damage the computer or systems of others.
- Cross Forum Posting: All posts on CJP are intended for view only by CJP members, employees, 3rd party consultants, or our business partners. Please do not copy or disseminate any information from CJP forums or websites, to any other forum/platform/website/media, without the express consent of CJP and/or the member that authored the post.
- Enforcement:
- Member Flags: Each post of the CJP forum is accompanied by a flag icon beneath the text of the post. If a member believes a post is in violation of any part of this CJP Forum Policy, that member should click on the flag icon. A flag will notify the moderation team that a post warrants observation.
- Three Flags: If a post receives 3 flags, the post will be hidden from view, with a notation that the post is under review by the moderation team.
- Moderators: The CJP Board of Directors will appoint three Owner-Members as volunteers to moderate the forums. No CJP Board member or staff member will be a moderator. The moderation team will have the following rights and responsibilities:
- Un-flag: If a moderator believes that a flagged or hidden post is compliant with this CJP Forum Use Policy, the moderator may un-flag a post. If the post is re-flagged after flags are removed, the moderation team may only un-flag the post if 2 out of 3 moderators agree to doing so.
- Author consultation: If a post is flagged or blurred, and a moderator believes the post to be in violation of the CJP Forum Use Policy, the moderator will attempt to contact the author of the post and ask that the post be removed or revised. The moderator may contact the author by private message, e-mail, or telephone. If the author fails to respond to communications attempts, or is unwilling to edit/remove the post, then the moderation team, with agreement of at least two moderators, may permanently remove the post.
- Thread Splits: If the topic of thread becomes significantly off topic, a moderator may split the thread into a new topic or category.
- Minor Edits: If a moderator notices an obvious error in a post, such that the moderator believes that the author intended something other than what was posted, a moderator may edit the post on behalf of the author. Examples might be a broken web link or an egregious spelling or grammatical error that improperly reflects the intent of the post. A moderator is not authorized to edit the content of a post in a manner that would misrepresent the intent of the author.
- Escalation: If a moderator believes that a member is intentionally or repeatedly violating the Forum Use Policy, or if a member fails to suitably respond to a moderator’s inquiry on a flagged post, the moderator shall notify the CJP CEO, who will subsequently send the notification to the Board of Director for appropriate action.
- Confidentiality and Singularity: Moderator deliberations are confidential and will not be shared or debated with anyone beyond other moderators and the CEO and Board of Directors. One majority opinion will be developed and will be the only opinion put forward to the member whose post is in question.
- Escalation and consequences: Corrective action is intended to drive and promote proper forum behavior rather than to punish. CJP may take any of the following actions for any intentional or repeated violation of the CJP Forum Use Policy:
- First Time, Minor and/or Unintentional Violations: Moderator discussion and post refinement only.
- Forum Suspension: Intentional, repeated, and/or egregious violations are subject to forum suspension for periods ranging from 2 weeks to 2 months, depending on the seriousness of the violation. Suspension action requires approval of the CJP Board of Directors’ Executive Committee, and reinstatement will be contingent upon the member’s willingness to engage in constructive conversation with the moderation team in order to avoid future violations.
- CJP Expulsion: Members who have been suspended from the forums for prior violations and continue to violate the CJP Forum Use Policy are subject to expulsion from CJP by a super-majority of the voting members of the Board of Directors. An expelled member forfeits all membership privileges and paid dues, including access to CJP Services.
The following items are not permitted on CJP forums. Intentional and/or repeated violation of these prohibited activities may result in suspension or termination for the CJP forums, and/or CJP membership:
Enforcement of the CJP forum policy is conducted through member participation via “flagging”, volunteer moderators, CJP staff, and the CJP Board of Directors. Further details are outlined below:
Limitations:
Every member or other person using CJP Services agrees to access, post, send, and receive messages and material that are proper and consistent with the Terms of Use. CJP reserves the right in its sole discretion to (a) discontinue, modify or expand the CJP Services at any time, (b) to change the Terms of Use and/or Code of Conduct at any time, (c) to ban or suspend any user with or without cause, (d) to change or modify or deviate from the progressive discipline policy described in the Terms of Use/Code of Conduct or (e) remove, edit, move or close any post, topic or forum at any time.
CJP Services, consisting of messages or chats on forums, express the views of the author solely and do not reflect and are not the views of CJP unless specifically stated by authorized representatives of CJP. The staff, officers, directors, and other members of CJP are not responsible for the content of any message not authored by them in their official capacity. CJP always reserves the right to disclose any information as necessary to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to edit, refuse to post, or to remove any information or materials, in whole or in part, at CJP’s sole discretion. Advice received via the CJP Services should not be relied upon for personal, medical, legal, or financial decisions, and you should consult an appropriate professional for specific advice tailored to your situation. The forum is for the exclusive use of members in good standing. Please do not post a message as a surrogate for a non-member.
CJP makes no representations about the suitability, reliability, availability, timeliness, and accuracy of the information, software, products, services, and related graphics contained on the CJP Services for any purpose. All such information, software, products, services, and related graphics are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. CJP hereby disclaims all warranties and conditions regarding this information, software, products, services, and related graphics, including all implied warranties and conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
In no event shall CJP be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential damages, or any damages whatsoever including, without limitation, damages for loss of use, data, or profits, arising out of or in any way connected with the use or performance of the CJP Services, with the delay or inability to use the CJP Services or related services, the provision of or failure to provide services, or for any information, software, products, services, and related graphics obtained through the CJP Services, or otherwise arising out of the use of the CJP Services, whether based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or otherwise, even if CJP has been advised of the possibility of damages. Because some states/jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, the above limitation may not apply to you. If you are dissatisfied with any portion of the CJP Services, or with any of these terms of use, your sole and exclusive remedy is to discontinue using the Services.
