CEO Update: Improving Access and Maximizing Service to CJP Members

by CJP Chief Executive Officer Rob Balzano

Since the last edition of Flight Levels, I have had the pleasure of connecting with many members and partners and will continue to prioritize these interactions, whether 1-dimensional (phone), 2-dimensional (Zoom) or my preferred method…3D – in person!

Your CJP staff, Board of Directors, committees and I are dedicated to serving our most valuable resource – YOU, our CJP members. We will continue to work together to elevate our CJP community to offer the best advocacy, benefits, camaraderie, and overall member experience of any owner-pilot association in the world!

To that end, we have transitioned our business phone number to a new system to offer a “one-stop shop” to contact CJP staff or leave a voice message. Our normal business hours are Monday-Friday from 8am – 5pm Eastern Time. Outside those hours, we will do our best to promptly return your call, and you can expect no later than one business day. You can also email CJP staff anytime and we will do our best to reply as soon as possible.

Our new toll-free phone number is 888-737-CJPA (2572)

One of my earliest observations was the incredible value that our partners bring to our organization. These relationships are mutually beneficial and are a great resource for all CJP members. I would like to welcome our brand-new Patron partners, The Leather Institute and UAS International Trip Support. Yingling Aviation recently upgraded to a Silver partnership and will be announcing new benefits soon.

Air Journey has also upgraded to a Silver partnership and has announced a $500 annual Member Benefit to be used towards one group guided Air Journey within the calendar year.  We will continue to build relationships with industry partners, and I ask for your help in connecting our staff with any businesses and companies you feel would be a good fit as a CJP partner.

Our Q2 board meeting, held in Wichita, KS was a great opportunity to visit with Textron Aviation senior leadership and reinforced the importance of our robust and enduring partnership. The following day, our safety committee held a Safety Summit in coordination with FlightSafety International, NetJets and QS Partners, where they discussed several safety topics that will be shared with our members.

This month, Garmin held an exclusive CJP member-only training event at their HQ in Olathe, KS, where fourteen members and I participated in a factory tour and dinner hosted by QS Partners. The following day was filled with top-notch briefings on CPDLC, Weather Radar, GPS Jamming and Spoofing, Flight Sim Lab and hands-on aircraft-specific Garmin avionics training scenarios. This was a great Gold Standard Safety Award enrichment training event and will be offered every other year. We are working on a similar training experience for aircraft equipped with Collins Aerospace avionics and will keep you posted on that opportunity.

The next few months will be busy preparing for our Summer Regional in Sonoma, Seattle Owner-Member Dinner, Oshkosh Owner-Member Dinner, and of course our world-class Annual Convention at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs in September.

I hope to meet you at one of these upcoming events, and I look forward to serving the CJP community!  Please don’t forget to spread the word about joining CJP to any prospective members and connect them with us!
