CJP Virtually Unconventional

aboodby Tom Abood

While the COVID-19 pandemic inhibited meeting in person this year, CJP is nonetheless prepared to deliver another memorable convention – virtually!

On October 22 and 23, utilizing a mixture of live-streaming technology and prerecorded presentations, we will provide much of the content you expect at an in-person convention, including partner updates, high-quality safety content, an exhibit hall, operational breakout sessions and an online auction (see full schedule below).

To make the best of a virtual format, we have condensed all safety and operational programming into less than two days. The first day will primarily focus on partner updates and the safety standdown. The second day will feature breakout sessions (per Citation model) and the CJP annual meeting. Audience participation remains integral and will weave throughout the event via moderated Q&A sessions, member interviews, open forum discussions and, of course, “CJP Jeopardy.”

The CJP Safety Committee, led by Charlie Precourt, will share a ton of great information regarding ongoing safety initiatives and upcoming opportunities you will not want to miss (including new companion training). Stay tuned to learn more details in the forthcoming issue of Right Seat.

Here is a closer look at the overall 2020 virtual convention schedule.

We all miss the fellowship, renewal of old friendships, development of new ones, and the aviation comradery that comes from an in-person event. Our annual convention is the fullest expression of that part of our mission and the aviation highlight of the year for me. I know that our convention this year can’t fully deliver on that element of our mission, but we must carry on as best as we can in this pandemic time. I think we are doing so at a very high level. Rest assured that as soon as conditions permit, CJP will pivot to providing an in-person regional and annual convention event schedule that carries on our great traditions.

I look forward to joining you all for the 2020 CJP Virtual Convention. Click here to register if you have not already.

I wish you all good health and safe flying.
