CJP2016-Andrew Broom-LinkedIn-0916CJP continues to serve our members by growing the number of partner offerings and special events available to Citation owners. Below are details on our newest patron partner, MyGoFlight, as well as recaps from our Steven Foote CJP Member Dinners held in Atlanta and Columbus.

Steven Foote CJP Member Dinners

We announced at the recent convention that we would memorialize CJP member Steve Foote by naming CJP member dinners in his honor. Steve passed earlier this year after a two-year battle with cancer. The plaque was presented to his widow, Lynne, and daughter, Mariah, with his niece, Taylor, also in attendance. The inscription on the plaque read:

With deep gratitude, Citation Jet Pilots, Inc. Owner Pilot Association presents this plaque to Lynne Foote to commemorate and recognize her beloved Steve Foote’s dedication to CJP. Steve’s actions in shepherding and encouraging comradery among CJP members were exemplary and contagious. He truly embraced this key pillar of the CJP mission. The CJP Board of Directors hereby permanently memorializes Steve by formally naming a series of events which he spearheaded the “Steven Foote CJP Member Dinners.”

Since the last newsletter, two Steven Foote CJP Member Dinners have taken place. Both were organized by CJP partner Dan Hartley Jet Sales.

Peachtree DeKalb Airport Signature Flight Support

This event was held in the bustling Signature Flight Support FBO at the Peachtree DeKalb Airport northeast of Atlanta, Georgia. CJP members had the opportunity to interact and hangar talk about flying adventures and operational issues. In attendance was Signature Flight Support Chief Commercial Officer Shawn Hall, who led the charge in creating the CJP fuel discount program. CJP members were able to discuss the program with Shawn and offer their thoughts on ways to further enhance the program to encourage more participation.

John Glenn Columbus International Airport Lane Aviation

dinner1CJP members Dennis and Brenda Blauser hosted a dinner with Lane Aviation at the Columbus, Ohio airport. The event began with a tour of the FAA tower that included the terminal and enroute ATC operations. Rich in aviation history, Lane Aviation hosted CJP members for a memorable tour and dinner. The Lane Aviation team included Steven Evans (President), Stastia Earl (Corporate Marketing and Communications) and Brad Willette (Aircraft Sales Manager).

The group held a wonderful event with local BBQ and great comradery. A special thank you to Dan Hartley, Nicole Wright, Dennis and Brenda Blauser, Signature Flight Support and Lane Aviation.

New Patron Partner – MYGOFLIGHT

mgflogoFocused on the iPad In Motion – in the air, on the road, on the water, at home, at school and anywhere the iPad is being used in life.

On April 3, 2010, the very first iPad was released. On October, 2010, MYGOFLIGHT (MGF) was created from the need to secure the iPad in cockpit. Co-Founder and CEO Charles Schneider is an instrument rated pilot who was able to envision the major role that the iPad was going to play in aviation. The first iPad Kneeboard was an all metal case that secured the iPad and was strapped to Charlie’s leg. Friends, colleagues and other pilots saw the kneeboard and needed one for themselves. And the rest is history.

Approaching their 10-year anniversary, MGF continues to pride itself on designing, manufacturing and marketing the very best products for the iPad and other devices safely and securely in many of the pursuits of active people. Pilots, drivers, boaters, cyclists, and for every other person using the power of technology in their life, MGF provides products and accessories to make greater use of the iPad, iPhone and other devices.

MGF’s initial focus was meeting the needs of aviators for the use of the iPad in-flight in the cockpit of airplanes. Having met these very demanding requirements, they now bring the same precision products to meet the needs of people in many other industries and verticals.

As a result of aviators asking for their critical flight information to be directly in front of them while flying, MGF decided to build a HUD. Why? (www.mgfproducts.com/hud).

Because flying with a HUD is SAFER. Period.

A non-instrument rated pilot flew an aircraft he had never flown before equipped with the MGF SKYDISPLAY HUD. Using the HUD, he flew the plane perfectly for two hours; precise takeoff at rotation speed, perfect climb out, held level flight with precision turns and landing. All by hand. Amazing…

This story is consistent with the findings of experienced HUD pilots and the study conducted by Flight Safety on the use of HUDs in aviation. All conclude the same thing – HUDs make flying safer.

The SKYDISPLAY HUD aligns critical flight information with a pilot’s outside view. It provides head-up guidance cues based on the information contained in the aircraft’s primary flight instruments. With the next generation of display technologies, a small footprint has been achieved allowing a HUD to fit into many cockpits that before were not an option. A HUD raises the proficiency of all pilots in all conditions and phases of flight. HUDs make flying safer.

Critical flight information from the aircraft’s flight deck display Head-Up. Flight path, Flight Director Cue, Aircraft Energy, Altitude, Speed and other safety features all visible as the pilot looks outside.

Operational Capabilities:

  • Safer Take-Offs
Rotate exactly at rotation speed for maximum obstacle clearance and runway remaining.
  • Smoother Hand Flying
Ability to maintain altitude and precision turns by looking outside and seeing position information at the same time.
  • Minimize Loss-of-Control
Alignment of critical flight information with pilot’s outside view enhances situational awareness and aids in the transition from IMC to VMC and inadvertent VMC to IMC.
  • Safer Approach/Precision Approach
Flight path marker with the flight director cue makes hand flying an approach intuitive, easier, smoother and safer. Major reduction in workload, critical in single pilot and/or IMC operations.
  • More Comfort
Gone is spatial disorientation, vertigo and nausea from up/down/up head movement to retrieve information while experiencing g-forces in climb out.
  • Visibility in Smoke/Backup Display
Provides avionics visibility in a smoke-filled cockpit or when a display fails.

MGF is known to provide premium quality and cool looking products that deliver both function and form. They are also known for their high level of customer service and for standing by every product they make. They are proud of all of their products and strive to make their customers proud to own MGF products.
