Chairman’s Update

Soaring into Spring

by Marc Dulude

CJP2016-Marc Dulude-HeadshotWe are kicking off the flying season with several exciting announcements. Hopefully you have seen the recent “Jet Blast” emails regarding the latest program offerings from valued CJP partners Garmin, Flight Research and our newest partner – Signature Flight Support. In case you missed it, here is a brief summary of each announcement:

  • The G1000 NXi flight deck upgrade STC for Citation Mustangs is complete and ready for installation. Garmin and CJP have teamed up to provide members with a complimentary year of Garmin Pilot and regional databases with the purchase of the G1000 NXi upgrade. If you’ve been reading the forum posts, then you know the initial feedback following installations has been outstanding.
  • The CJP Safety and Education Foundation has partnered with CJP Silver Partner Flight Research to offer Citation upset recovery training at a special group rate. Sign up now to complete this essential training with Flight Research and earn credit toward the CJP Gold Standard Safety Award.
  • CJP has partnered with Signature Flight Support on a new program that forms part of CJP Fuel Advantage. In addition to significantly better pricing for CJP members at Signature locations, you can choose to also be rewarded by Signature Flight Support’s loyalty programs and Signature TailWins. Additionally, Signature is waiving handling fees with a minimum fuel purchase as part of this program.

I am extremely proud of our team for their efforts and collaboration to add each of these member benefits to our growing list. Our steadfast goal is to help members get more out of their jets and more out of their membership. I encourage you to read more information regarding the above news within this newsletter or on the CJP website.

Gold Standard

It is time again to start thinking about how you can earn the esteemed Gold Standard Safety Award. Open to all Citation pilots, the award’s purpose is to recognize an individual who goes above and beyond minimum Citation currency requirements to complete additional enrichment training offered by CJP partners. Various events and Gold Standard opportunities will be announced throughout the year.

I cannot emphasize enough the value in participating in additional Citation training including the enrichment courses offered by FlightSafety, TRU, Flight Research, Garmin, Collins Aerospace, Embry-Riddle and others. Not only are the events helpful in making you a better, safer pilot but there are now several insurance carriers that participate in the program and have agreed to give a premium credit on renewal for your participation in select safety seminars only offered at our annual conventions. To see participating underwriters, you can click here and scroll to the bottom.

It’s a fact that insurance markets are tightening (see “Aviation Insurance: Times Have Changed”) and premiums are rising. Our efforts are squarely behind getting differentiated access to better policies for Gold Standard Award recipients. So, don’t delay – get going on qualifying for this highest level of commitment to single pilot safe operations.

Events

While our annual convention is certainly the highlight of the year, I want to also encourage everyone to join for one or more of the regional events and member-sponsored gatherings. These additional touchpoint events are excellent opportunities for sharing and collaboration. I have personally been flying to various locations and arranging various meals with members – all so that we can enjoy each other’s company and hear what people think are the most important things to keep in mind. Be sure to save the date for our first regional event at Mackinac Island on June 21-24.

In addition, if you have any comments or suggestions for CJP partnerships, I am always on the lookout for benefits that we can try to deliver to members. So, don’t be shy and let me know if there is something else that would be desirable benefit where we can leverage our fleet.
