For 2015, CJP and the Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation expanded the Bob Hoover Presidential Scholarship program to award academic scholarships to four Embry-Riddle students: Dakota Foster, Anna Robinson, Achyut Nair, and Robert Morgan. After hearing from Dakota and Achyut earlier this year, Anna and Robert provided CJP with an update of their progress. – Ed.
The end is near! Entering my last semester, there are less than 100 days left before graduation.
Currently I am mostly focused on trying to finish up my flight training so I have one less thing to worry about during finals and graduation preparations. The post-graduation plan is to work with Worldwide Jet down in Phoenix as a ground instructor and general purpose employee while building up hours before transitioning to being a pilot for them.
As I am in this state of reflection of my college journey, I can confidently say that one of the best experiences I had was as a Bob Hoover Scholar with CJP and the adventures I had during that time. I eagerly look forward to the next chapter of my aviation career.
I am going into my Spring semester at ERAU and looking forward to taking some more challenging courses including Legislation and Aircraft Systems and Components.
I had a great 4.0 Fall semester and progressed on my CFI flight training. I am currently going through the preliminary classes for that flight course, so hopefully I will be done with that checkride soon! It was always great to hear from those of you at events who have gone through this before and hear your advice and encouragement.
I wanted to thank you all again for your continued support and help connecting me to the aviation industry. Through the New Orleans Regional Event, AirVenture, and the CJP Convention last September, I have made so many contacts. These inspiring people include a few ladies from The Boeing Co., my pilot from the AeroShell team, and of course many of the interesting members from your generous organization.
I have thoroughly cherished every moment I have been given by you all.
