CEO Update: Successful SAF Regional Event and New Sponsor Herald Exciting Months Ahead
by CJP Chief Executive Officer Trent J. Corcia
What a great second month this has been as the new CJP CEO! I cannot thank you enough for the warm welcome that I have received through numerous conversations, emails, phone calls, texts as well as last month’s in-person CJP Regional Event held in Santa Fe, NM.
The fantastic event in Santa Fe focused on interactions among our CJP Members, Spouses and Guests as well as our Platinum Plus (Textron Aviation) and Platinum Partners (Collins, FlightSafety Textron Aviation Training, Garmin, and Tamarack). Randy Broiles, CJP Chairman, gave a heartfelt speech thanking outgoing CJP CEO Andrew Broom for his many contributions and leadership over the last 5 years; Andrew is now at NBAA as SVP of Marketing, Innovation and Strategy. The Alberts team did a phenomenal job with all of the details ensuring a successful, first class event. Be sure to read Cheryl Hardy’s recap of the Santa Fe Regional Event in this issue of Flight Levels.
2021 Convention Update
The 2021 CJP Annual Convention is full steam ahead! Registration opened in late June, and – based on the momentum that we saw in Santa Fe last month and the volume of initial registrations – this will be a record year.
As the host hotel, the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa is a true oasis in California and offers a luxury lifestyle experience with superb service.
The CJP Safety Standdown will again be an integral part of the convention this year with an in-depth review of accidents/incidents and presentations to help enhance your safe operations. The Standdown will be led by Charlie Precourt and include participation by Textron Aviation, Neil Singer, David Miller and others. Also, we will receive an update from the Presage Group on the ground-breaking “Go Around Study” and we will have a FOQA Panel discussion. Of course, we could not have an Annual Convention without the next round of CJP “What Good Looks Like” videos.
Textron Aviation will continue to lend incredible support at the convention with executive leadership presentations, breakout session speakers, companion programming, a Thursday night event at the Palm Springs Air Museum, and a special concert on Friday night following the auction. The private concert will feature multi-platinum hitmakers, the Eli Young Band.
Also, we will offer training for companions designed to enable them to be more comfortable in the flying environment. With assistance from Collins and Garmin, we will demonstrate how to operate their avionics using table-top devices. FlightSafety Textron Aviation Training will discuss their simulator Companion Course which is available at most training centers; CJP Companions who have already attended this course will review their experiences and how they now assist the Pilot in Command. Companions Ground School consists of a two-hour session and is open to everyone at a cost of $150.
We have an exciting Convention on the books, and we look forward to you joining us in Indian Wells, CA, at the CJP Annual Convention from October 20 to 23. Register for the CJP Annual Convention at cjpevents.com.

New CJP Silver Partner: Amulet Estate
Will you share the background and location of Amulet Estate?
The word “amulet” comes from the Latin word amulētum, which means “an object that provides good fortune” or a good luck charm. More than a talisman, the true mark of the Amulet Estate portfolio is a nod to the pioneering spirit of early Napa Valley viticulture and a deep respect for the land.
Amulet Estate is located in St. Helena, the heart of the Napa Valley. Since acquiring the estate and vineyards in 2016, it has been our goal to create world class wines that reflect the profound expressions of The Napa Valley. Amulet Estate is “a gathering place” that reflects both our family values and the best of Napa Valley.
Please tell us a little bit about your professional background and how you came to Amulet Estate.
Previous to Amulet Estate, my passion centered around the high-end niche of the Hotel and Restaurant industry. For the past 13 years, I partnered and operated the Restaurant at Meadowood and The Charter Oak Restaurant in the Napa Valley with Bill Harlan and partners. Shortly after my introduction to Amulet Estate, it was an organic step to take my hospitality acumen and apply it to a seemingly parallel industry. The origins of Amulet Estate are elemental, thoughtful and genuine to the Napa Valley as were the restaurants I lived and breathed for 13 years.
Why did Amulet Estate choose to partner with CJP?
Amulet Estate and CJP share the same passion and values. Our focus is on our craft and commitment to our clients and guests. Hospitality for me is the genuine and sincere approach to what we do. I look forward to sharing our stories and craft alongside our winemaker, Shawn Johnson.
What do you think the future holds for Amulet Estate?
Simple, high-end, thoughtful Napa Valley Wine that is and will continue to be quintessential wines of the Napa Valley. With the gentle winemaking philosophy of our winemaker, Shawn Johnson, our wines will continue to evolve organically and will not disappoint. We keep our minds and eyes on what’s to come while appreciating the past as a compass to guide us forward. The estate itself will remain subtle and elemental while not straying away from its roots. I look forward to building our future with the Amulet team and with excitement share our next chapter soon. So, stay tuned!
What differentiates Amulet Estate from other wine options for CJP members?
It starts with our small production and team that caringly develop unique experiences for members, guests and visitors by our wine making team.
How do CJP members purchase Amulet Estate wine selections?
We couldn’t be more excited to share that Nathaniel has offered a special one-time offer to introduce our CJP members to Amulet Estate – this was considered as a way to share our excitement to introduce our newest relationship to the Napa Valley… we are incredibly grateful and excited to begin this partnership.
