CSTSocial Distance in Paradise

International travel restrictions/updates.

by Caribbean Sky Tours

So, you have had just about all the “lockdown” you can take? Has that dream of more time with your spouse and family become a nightmare? Are you ready to break out? Well, there is good news for you; many great vacation destinations are open for General Aviation aircraft arrivals. So, take social distancing with your family and friends to a whole new level and put a couple of thousand miles between you and them.

As a Citation Jet owner, you have many things going in your favor. First, by having your own private jet, you can control the cabin environment within which you will be traveling. No need to share a cabin with 100-plus strangers who may, or may not, be contagious. Second, by flying privately, you don’t need to spend hours in busy airport terminals and TSA security lines where you are once again at risk for exposure. You can go from the security of your private vehicle to that of your aircraft and then to your destination.

So, where can you go and how can you get there? The possible destinations and their respective requirements change almost daily. Fortunately, we are communicating constantly with government officials and our network of agents to stay on top of the details. Many countries have taken strict measures to eliminate COVID cases in their territories and have consequently implemented strict measures to prevent a resurgence of infections by screening incoming visitors. While this may appear inconvenient at first glance, these strict controls can also make them a safer destination, from a COVID risk, than many cities in the USA.

To help inform pilots, we have compiled a comprehensive list, by country, that includes the latest requirements as well as access to health forms, procedures, etc. We have grouped these countries by their respective regions: The Bahamas, Bermuda, Caribbean, Mexico, Central America and South America. To access these regions, click on the following link and then click on the region you wish to explore. https://members.cstflightservices.com/COVID-19

For the CJP community, we have compiled a “shortlist” of fabulous destinations that are currently allowing General Aviation flights to visit their country. We provide a short summary for each country as well as a link to get much more detail, including required forms and instructions. Please note that many countries plan to update their restrictions on July 30, so double-check with the corresponding country’s health website, or our website, to obtain the very latest data.
