CJP2016-Andrew Broom-LinkedIn-0916CJP added three new partners since the last newsletter. Below you can find details on our newest patron partners: AeroCity Jets, Perkins Aircraft Windows and Thales Aerospace.

The CJP partners will also be exhibiting at the CJP Annual Convention in Colorado Springs at the Broadmoor from September 4-7.

AEROCITY JETS

AEROCITY JETS exists to serve the owner-flown jet community as a one-stop shop for training, managing and maintaining Garmin-equipped single-pilot Citation jets.

Our insurance approved type rating and recurrent courses use a combination of in-aircraft and simulator-based training to capture the best of both worlds, while our network of aircraft serves type-rated pilots with rental availability in areas beyond the range of their own planes.

AEROCITY JETS currently operates, manages and services a fleet of G1000, G1000 NXi and G3000 equipped Citation Mustang, M2 and CJ3+ aircraft throughout the Western United States and Europe. These planes are available for training and rental with the fleet ever-expanding, including a G1000 NXi Mustang in Switzerland.

Perkins Aircraft Windows

More than 45 years have gone into making Perkins Aircraft Windows, Inc. a well-respected technological leader in the manufacturing and development of aircraft transparencies. Throughout our manufacturing history, Perkins Aircraft Windows’ expertise has been applied to the engineering, design, tooling, certification and production of numerous projects. Our number one product line is the Citation series, in which we manufacture the windshields, side cockpits and cabin windows for most models including the 500, 501, 525, 550, 560 and 650 series. Perkins has produced over 1,400 Citation windshields since 1996 and still going strong. Our facilities are located in the heart of Fort Worth, Texas and include:

  • 35,000 square foot manufacturing space
  • New WPT autoclave
  • NC capabilities
  • ISO class 5 clean room
  • Thermoforming capabilities
  • CAD Engineering

Perkins Aircraft Windows currently holds PMA certificates on close to 250 products. The common issues of all of our customers are cost, quality and availability. We here at Perkins Aircraft Windows pride ourselves in providing FAA/PMA approved products at a significant savings over the other OEM prices. Our product line includes aftermarket windows for at least one model from nearly every major airframe manufacturer in the world.

Window Repair Services

Perkins Aircraft Windows has developed many FAA-approved procedures for repairing aircraft windows over the years. For example, we developed a proprietary process to repair delamination in transparencies for pressurized aircraft. This alone can save the operator up to 75 percent of the replacement cost of that window. Delaminated glass and acrylic transparencies are repaired using a process involving just the right amount of heat and pressure. This complicated process facilitates the proper rebonding of the materials, which are then reassembled and inspected to ensure their integrity.

Quality Assurance

The quality standards at Perkins Aircraft Windows far exceed those that are considered acceptable in the aviation industry. Detailed records are maintained throughout the repair and manufacturing processes, and our quality inspectors closely monitor all phases of the work performed by our highly skilled technicians. In addition, Perkins Aircraft Services’ quality system is fully FAA approved and is ISO 9000 compliant.

On-Site Product Installation

Installation procedures for aircraft transparencies are both complicated and delicate. Most mechanics will attest to the fact that it is very easy to make a costly mistake when dealing with such delicate parts as transparencies. This is why Perkins Aircraft Windows offers on-site installation of our products. Our crews of highly-trained FAA certified repairmen only work on windows, so they are more efficient and knowledgeable about the installation of these fragile parts of the airframe. If one of our installation crewmembers damages a $20,000 windshield of ours, we will supply a replacement at our own expense. How many independent A&P mechanics can make that kind of guarantee?

Thales Aerospace

As one of the world’s largest suppliers in the aerospace sector, Thales is a renowned leading supplier of avionics suites, on-board instruments and functions for all major global air-framers.

Thales is a proud partner of Textron Aviation and the supplier of the fly-by-wire system on the Citation Hemisphere and of the rudder-by-wire system on the Citation Longitude.

Thales will display two of its flagship products during the Citation Jet Pilots Convention:

TopMax

Wearable HUD for light and medium-size business jets. TopMax is an affordable wearable HUD that brings EFVS, SVS and CVS to business jets pilots in order to reduce minima take-off and landing minima.

The system offers identical operational benefits as current head-up displays but its operational capabilities largely exceed existing solutions because TopMax includes 360-degree full-color vision capability, augmented reality and intuitive off-axis symbology features that strongly enhance situational awareness and safety. TopMax has a minimal footprint in the cockpit and allows for easy retrofit on any type of aircraft.

FlytLINKTM Connectivity System

Thales FlytLINKTM line of products leverages the Iridium NEXT satellites constellation and is capable of both cockpit safety and cabin connectivity within one and only box. Thales offers a scalable, flexible and sustainable SATCOM solution tailored for business aviation as well as air time services.
