CJP Growth/Convention Preview
by Kirk Samuelson
This is an especially exciting issue of Flight Levels as we announce several new 2018 partners and member benefits. Due to the diligent efforts of promoting CJP to the aviation community, I am proud to share that we have added seven new partners: silver partner SIMCOM, diamond partner Karma Automotive, and patron partners Bose, Elliott Aviation, Jet Shades, Svalinn and Goodrich De-icing/UTC Aerospace. Furthermore, members can find a new offer from our existing platinum partner Rockwell Collins.
I am extremely proud of our team, and encourage you to read more information regarding the partners in Andrew’s CEO Message. I do want to take a moment however, to highlight the Rockwell Collins benefit in particular.
Rockwell Collins Member Benefit
Hopefully you saw the email in late June revealing fantastic discounts for those of you operating Rockwell Collins equipped Citations. If you happened to miss it, CJP members can now redeem the following offer:
- $1,000 annual CJP member credit for Pro Line 21 Citation operators
- $3,000 annual CJP member credit for Pro Line Fusion Citation operators
These annual credits can be applied to database packages or any other new Rockwell Collins Business Aviation product. (For more details on how to redeem either credit, click here).
I want to specifically thank Marc Dulude, Chairman of the CJP Advocacy Committee, Stuart Fred, CJP Founding and Lifetime member, and CJP CEO Andrew Broom for their work here. They coordinated the input from fellow CJP members and were closely engaged with the Rockwell Collins team in the discussions leading up to this amazing member benefit. Also, a big thank you to the Rockwell Collins team for their continued support of CJP.
2018 Convention Preview
Summer is flying by which means our annual convention will be here in no time. Based on the momentum we are seeing with membership, partners and events, it will undoubtedly be a special year. And after having visited the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Spa, I can tell you that it offers Texas-sized hospitality. You will love its comfort and beauty situated just 20 minutes from the San Antonio River Walk.
The Safety Standdown will again be an integral part of the convention this year with an in-depth review of accidents/incidents and presentations to help enhance your safe operations. The Standdown will be led by Charlie Precourt and include participation by Textron Aviation, Neil Singer, David Miller, Greg Feith, Dr. David Strahle and others.
Textron Aviation will continue to lend incredible support at the convention with executive leadership presentations, breakout session speakers, companion programming, a Thursday night event and a special concert on Friday night following the auction. The private concert will feature CJP member, fellow Citation pilot and multi-platinum selling singer/songwriter, Dierks Bentley.
We will also offer the very popular companions training designed to enable companions to be more comfortable in the flying environment. Companions Ground School consists of a two-hour session and is open to everyone at a cost of $150. Additionally, platinum partner jetAVIVA will be offering the Companion Flying Training Course ($950) on a first come, first served basis.
As you can see, there is a lot to look forward to in October! So, make your plans to be in San Antonio at the CJP Convention from October 24 to 28. I certainly hope to see you there.
Lastly, I want to remind members the application for the CJP Gold Standard Safety Award is still available on the website, and must be submitted by the first week in September. But we recommend that you submit your application sooner if you meet the criteria.
I cannot emphasize enough the value in participating in additional Citation training including the enrichment courses offered by FlightSafety, TRU, Flight Research, Garmin, Rockwell Collins, Embry-Riddle and others. In case you missed it, you can click here to read reviews/takeaways written by those who participated in some of the courses, including myself.
The physical award is a beautiful shadow box that contains a challenge coin and will be presented to qualifying members during the annual convention in San Antonio. This inaugural class of awarded pilots will surely be special. The application can be downloaded here and will need to be submitted with supporting documents to safety@citationjetpilots.com.
