Meet the New (Old) Editor!

Rob HeadshotCJP is pleased to welcome back freelance aviation writer and podcaster Rob Finfrock to our team as the editor of “Flight Levels,” as well as the organization’s “Right Seat” safety newsletter. Rob previously worked for CJP from July 2014 through December 2017, before taking a sabbatical to tend to family matters, including caring for his parents who – like Rob – call Rio Rancho, NM home.

“I am honored and humbled to be working once again with CJP,” he said. “I look forward to catching up with old friends in the association and meeting the many new faces who have joined CJP over the past three years.”

Rob was introduced to general aviation from the right seat of a Cessna 310Q freighter on a flight from Albuquerque, NM up to the Four Corners region in August 2002. That flight ultimately led – with some twists and turns – to his present career in the aviation industry, which began after he answered a request for “stringers” to help cover AirVenture 2005 for an online news organization.

Today, Rob writes for organizations including Aviation International News and the National Business Aviation Association. Beginning in October 2019, he took on the added responsibility of hosting NBAA’s weekly “Flight Plan” podcast.

Rob is also a certificated sport pilot, though recently his interests have returned to ground-level as the owner of a 50th Anniversary Edition Corvette and serving as governor and secretary for his local Corvette club. “Although aviation remains my first love and passion, it’s occasionally nice to tackle a twisting mountain road in 3rd gear instead of flying over it,” he laughed. “It’s cheaper, too… though not as much so as I’d hoped!”
