Construction is well underway on the brand-new Desert Jet Center, the newest FBO in the greater Palm Springs area (KTRM – Thermal, California). The Grand Opening is scheduled for late Spring 2019. When complete, the new 32,500 square-foot facility will feature a luxurious lobby and modern appointments designed with the traveler and pilot in mind. Powered completely by clean solar energy, the desert’s only air-conditioned hangar will provide climate-controlled comfort to aircraft traveling to or based in Thermal. The state-of-the-art hangar will be able to accommodate aircraft as large as the Gulfstream G650 and Global 6000 and will offer jet maintenance services provided by the on-site FAA Part 145 repair station and the desert’s only FAA-compliant aircraft detailing.

Desert Jet Center recently earned the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH) Stage II certification, emerging as the only FBO in the desert southwest region to hold both IS-BAH registration and the NATA Safety 1st certification. Desert Jet Center is the Preferred FBO at KTRM for CAA (Corporate Aircraft Association) and CJP (Citation Jet Pilots) organizations.

Desert Jet Maintenance, a Cessna Citation-specialized FAA Part 145 Certified Repair Station, was awarded the Diamond Award of Excellence by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and designated as a 5-star award winner of the 2018 Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Employer Recognition Awards by the National Air Transportation Association (NATA). Desert Jet Maintenance General Manager James Logue also received accolades in 2018 as a recipient of AMT’s NextGen 40 Under 40 Award for his passion, expertise, and contributions to his field.

Next month, Desert Jet Maintenance will be launching a comprehensive maintenance management program for CJP members. The program will prevent owners from having to deal directly with the frustrations inherent in the oversight of the maintenance of their aircraft, and offers immediate support in maintenance recovery, the planning and quoting of scheduled maintenance events, the management of airframe/engine/avionics programs and the negotiation of maintenance invoicing.
