Photo Gallery: CJPers Gather in Wine Country for Second Regional Event for 2022
From May 24-27, fifty-five CJP members met in the heart of California Wine Country for the second CJP regional event of the year. Approximately 15 Citations flew into Charles M. Schulz – Sonoma County Airport (STS) and were entrusted to the care of Sonoma Jet Center (owner Josh Hochberg is also a Citation owner and CJP member) as attendees enjoyed several days of fun, relaxation, vineyard tours, picturesque scenery – and even goat yoga – along with plenty of fine wine and cuisine, of course!
The Hotel Healdsburg provided lodging to attendees and hosted Tuesday evening’s welcome reception at Rooftop Terrace at the Harmon House. On Wednesday night, CJP Platinum Plus Partner Textron Aviation hosted a dinner for attendees at Fritz Underground Winery, while Thursday evening featured a dinner and reception hosted by CJP Silver Partner Amulet Estate.
The event also included product updates from Textron Aviation, FlightSafety, Tamarack, Garmin and Collins. David Miller, CJP director of programs and safety education, presented “A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words,” addressing non-fatal ground accidents that, while not usually fatal, cause millions of dollars in damage and increased insurance premiums. The presentation reviewed several years of data and examined how the use of CJP SOPs enhance safety.
Miller was then joined by CJP Safety Committee Chairman Charlie Precourt and presented the latest data from CJP’s “Safe to Land” Initiative, including FlightSafety’s course design, new checklists and videos that will be rolled out at CJP’s annual convention in Austin, TX later this year.
The gathering also offered a pair of enticing group events, with the 1st Annual CJP “Iron Chef” Competition and Wine Tasting taking place Wednesday afternoon at Relish Culinary Center. On Thursday, attendees had the option of either exploring Wine Country on their own, or participating in the Windsor-area Cycling Wine Tour and Lunch with visits to Foppiano Winery and Mutt Lynch Winery.
Below are some photo highlights from the event. And if you couldn’t make it to Sonoma, be sure to keep an eye on the CJP Events calendar for upcoming gatherings!
