Also at CJP2015, CJP Director Tracy Forrest introduced the Association’s latest app to assist owners and operators: the Radar Tilt Angle Calculator to assist pilots in determining the correct radar antenna tilt angle based on dish size and range.

“At various altitudes, depending on your range, and size of your radar dish, this app will tell you what your tilt angle should be to paint the ground [or] your path ahead in level flight,” Forrest explained.
CJP Members may download the iPad app at www.southeastramp.com/ios. Users running an operating system prior to iOS9 will need to click “yes” when asked to trust “THE ORLANDO SANFORD SOUTHEAST RAMP” when running the app for the first time, while in iOS9 you’ll need to go in to Settings > General > Profile, and tap “Trust” for the app.
The app was developed based on paper radar tilt charts published by Bendix-King, Forrest noted.
